Favorite

The team expected to win, signaled by negative moneyline odds and/or a negative spread.

The favorite is the team expected to win, indicated by negative moneyline odds (e.g. −180) and a negative spread (e.g. −7). Heavy favorites carry expensive moneyline prices and small expected ROI; well-priced moderate favorites are often where regression and trend systems find edge.
