Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about LineTerminal.

What is betting terminal software?

Betting terminal software is a platform that gives sports bettors a professional-grade workspace for research, backtesting, and edge detection. Instead of relying on gut feelings or tips, you use a terminal to query historical data, build systems with specific filters, compare sportsbook lines, and identify statistically profitable patterns. LineTerminal is betting terminal software purpose-built for NBA, NHL, MLB, and NCAAB bettors.

What is terminal betting?

Terminal betting is a data-driven approach to sports betting where you use a dedicated research terminal — like LineTerminal — to analyze historical outcomes, backtest angles, and find edges before placing wagers. Think of it like a Bloomberg terminal, but for sports betting: live lines, 80+ filters, AI-powered analysis, and 5+ years of historical data at your fingertips.

What is LineTerminal?

LineTerminal is a sports betting terminal. You build custom betting systems using historical opening and closing line data from major US sportsbooks, then backtest them to see win rate, ROI, and profit over time. We do not accept, place, or facilitate bets of any kind.

What sports do you cover?

We cover NBA, NHL, MLB, NFL, NCAAB, and NCAAF. Coverage for each sport includes historical line data from multiple sportsbooks, with more books and sports being added over time.

Which sportsbooks do you track?

We currently track opening and closing lines from FanDuel, DraftKings, and BetMGM. Additional sportsbooks are planned for the future.

Why does the data only go back about 5 years?

The US Supreme Court struck down PASPA in May 2018, which allowed states to legalize sports betting. Major sportsbooks like FanDuel, DraftKings, and BetMGM rolled out state by state over the following years, and reliable, trackable odds data through APIs didn't become consistently available until the 2020-2021 seasons. Our data starts where trustworthy, structured data begins.

What is a betting system?

A system is a set of filters that define a specific betting scenario — for example, 'NBA home underdogs getting +3 to +7 on DraftKings.' LineTerminal finds every historical game that matches your filters and shows you the results: win rate, ROI, record, profit curve, and more.

Can I share my systems?

Yes. Every system you build can be shared via a unique link. Anyone with the link can view the system's filters and results, and claim it to their own account to track going forward.

Does LineTerminal tell me what to bet?

No. LineTerminal is a data and analytics tool, not a picks service. We show you how specific scenarios have performed historically. What you do with that information is entirely your decision. Past performance does not guarantee future results.

What does the subscription include?

One plan, full access: all 6 sports, 80+ system filters, unlimited saved systems, system sharing, opening and closing lines from 3+ sportsbooks, interactive analytics widgets, and today's matching picks. $14.99/month or $143.99/year.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. You'll retain access through the end of your current billing period.

Where does the line data come from?

Our line data is sourced from licensed US sportsbooks and aggregated through industry-standard data providers. We capture opening and closing lines for spreads, moneylines, and totals across every game.

Why do some games not appear in certain market tabs?

Not every sportsbook offers every market for every game. For example, DraftKings may not post a moneyline for a heavily mismatched NCAAB game (e.g., a Power 5 team vs. a low-major), and BetMGM occasionally skips run lines for certain MLB matchups. When a sportsbook did not offer odds for a market, those games are excluded entirely from that market's stats and game log — they are not estimated or approximated. This means game counts can differ between the Spread, Moneyline, and Totals tabs for the same sportsbook.

Is this financial or betting advice?

No. LineTerminal provides data and analytics for informational and entertainment purposes only. Nothing on this platform constitutes financial advice, betting advice, or a recommendation to place any wager. You are solely responsible for your own betting decisions.

Do I need to be 21 to use LineTerminal?

You must be at least 18 years old to use LineTerminal. Sports betting itself requires you to be 21+ in most US states. Always follow the laws of your jurisdiction.
